I love Derren Brown

I met Derren once at the Spiderman 2 premiere in 2004 where he signed my autograph book. He is the only celebrity who didn’t just scribble a random scrawl on the paper, instead asked my name and wrote, “Dear Sarah, best wishes, Derren Brown X”. He seemed genuinely touched by people screaming his name all over the place, but maybe his wonderful charm was all just an elaborate illusion. Maybe it’s a blank piece of paper in my autograph book and I’ve been under his hypnotic spell ever since!

The second time I saw Derren was when I went to see his tour “Something Wicked This Way Comes” in 2006 with my mum. He scared the bejesus out of me for about a week afterwards. He is AMAZING live. Just unbelievable. He also told us how he did one of them (but after his load of crap of how he did the lottery stunt I don’t know if it was as simple as that) where he asked someone to draw something and then compared it to Derren’s own drawing done previously, and of course they were identical.

What everyone’s talking about now is of course the National Lottery prediction which he got spot on. The bollocks about having 24 people auto-write numbers and average them is clearly not how he did it. Getting loads of predictions for the weight of an ox works but averaging random numbers for the lottery will not! I don’t really care to be honest, I just love watching his tricks and hopefully will go to his Enigma tour in April 2010 [coming to Edinburgh!] when I get some spare money *excitement*!
